Bio

Arina Zinoveva is an artist working with painting and sculpture. She explores the themes of quantum physics and its interconnection to abstract painting.

Growing up in post-soviet Russia, she knew from early age that she wanted to become an abstract painter, but she couldn’t even imagine pursuing a creative profession in her home country. Not many people in her home town, Komsomolsk-on-Amur dared to try and earn the living by making art, and she couldn’t dream about it either. Only after she began exploring the world, she realised that being an artist is also regarded as a job. She found her community, like-minded people. But the tension still exists: is she allowed to be just an artist? Arina had to look for answers by working in other industries: education, localisation, translation… She likes to explore the world beyond the art world, hoping that one day she will find equilibrium.
