Art lessons for children

Children will immerse themselves in painting, drawing and sculpting.

These lesssons are tailored to the emotional, cognitive, social, and psychological developmental stage of each child.

GSCE Art and Design lessons

Students aged 14 – 16 can get their final work ready for submission.

I can give them feedback on whether their artwork and portfolio meet the requirements of the AQA and Pearson Edexcel GCSE Art and Design specifications.

If a student requires guidance on any technical implementation of their artwork, such as any painting, drawing or sculpting technique, we can work together on mastering specific skills.

A Level History of Art lessons

Students aged 16 – 18 can get ready for their history of art exam.

Having a wealth of experience as an English language teacher, an art teacher and a practising artist, I am well positioned to share the best strategies for analysing artworks, writing about them and understanding the mindset of an artist.

Having tried a plethora of art techniques, such as etching, linocut, oil painting, watercolour and many more, I can explain each technique easily and in simple terms. With this knowledge, the student will be able to analyse artwork created by artists with more ease.

I can give students feedback on whether their written answers meet the requirements of the Edexcel A Level History of Art specification.

Drawing lessons

Practise being accurate and precise but also flowy and gestural.

Try out different media: pencil, charcoal, oil pastel, soft pastel, ink.

Master skills across different genres: still life, landscape, portature, figurative drawing, city scape, architectural drawing.

Painting lessons

Immerse yourself in colour.

Practise using specific medium: oil, acrylic, watercolour, gouache.

Sculpture lessons

Create animals, people and more abstract and conceptual pieces with clay.

Mixed media lessons

Use several media on the same surface to create desired effects.

Experiment applying various textures on a two-dimentional surface, such as canvas, paper or wood.

Art theory and history lessons

You can learn about art history and theory for academic, professional or personal reasons.

I can give you guidance on how to incorporate art history and theory into your art practice.

Watercolour painting lessons

Practise creating stunning watercolour paintings.

Academic writing lessons

If you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student and you would like to write clearly and professionally, I can guide you throughout the whole writing process: creating your first draft, doing research and referencing sources, expressing your own arguments clearly and editing your work to give it final polish.

Female and male figurative drawing lessons

You will learn to see the relative position of facial features and body features and drawing these features accurately.

In these lessons, you will be measuring the relative size of facial and body features and the angles of certain shapes to produce a realistic representation.

You can practise drawing female and male figure.

HSC Visual Art exams

Students attending Year 11 and Year 12 in NSW, Australia can get get ready for their final exam.

As a qualified visual arts secondary school teacher, I can guide students to achieve the desired results in the written exam and to prepare a portfolio.

I did my initial teacher training in Sydney, Australia and have a solid understanding of the NSW Visual Arts Stage 6 Syllabus.
