In a General English course, you will practise using the language in a variety of contexts. You will practise grammatical structures that will help you express your ideas clearly. You will practise pronunciation patterns and learn about communicative functions
The content of a General English (GE) course will depend on several factors. Arina will choose the content for a GE Course depending on the learner’s goals. To determine your learning goals, you can answer these questions:
- Have you just started learning the language?
- Can you already speak English? Do you need to work on expanding your vocabulary and start expressing more complex ideas both orally and in writing?
- Are you working towards proficiency and fine-tuning your language skills?
- What context do you use English in: at work, at university, at school, at home, in social clubs?
Arina teaches General English courses in Cambridge, UK face-to-face and online.
To choose the right content for the learner, Arina will run needs analysis which will involve speaking, writing, listening or reading tasks. Based on the results of the needs analysis, she will create a roadmap for the learner to achieve his or her desired outcomes.
